How do I know as the teacher which students in my class have a benchmark waiting for them to take?
As a teacher, you want to check which students are qualified for a Lexile Benchmark exam.
As a teacher, there is no visual indicator that a student is qualified for a benchmark exam, like there is on the student's account (purple envelope in top left corner).
However, if you view the student's activity, and the time since their last benchmark, you will be able to determine if they are qualified for a benchmark or not. The criteria to qualify for an automatic Lexile Benchmark are as follows:
1. Time passed since last Lexile Benchmark exam is AT LEAST 2 weeks (14 days). A student will not be able to take more than one Lexile benchmark test in a 2 week period, unless otherwise manually assigned by the teacher.
2. The student has read 5 books**
The student has read for a total accumulative time of 3 hours.
You can check a student's reading time or books finished by running a Reading Performance report for the time frame since their last Lexile Benchmark exam.
To learn more about running reports as a faculty account user or specialist account user, you can go here:
**Keep in mind that a faculty account has the ability to set the number of books finished required for a Lexile Benchmark Exam, to 25 books finished.
