You need to know how to turn off (or pause/mute) the audio when reading books. Also, you want to know why – when audio is muted – the audio resumes when advancing to the next page.
First, there is a pause/play button in the middle of the menu bar. If you press this button the audio/highlighting will be paused for just that page, but will start up again when the page is turned.
Teachers have the ability to disable audio for students completely. If you are accessing books that are listed as audio books, and you have no functionality to listen, this is why.
Another way to turn off audio is through the Reading Options when creating/editing projects. Refer to the article “How to Create Projects (Faculty)” or “How To Edit Projects (Faculty)” for more information on this option.
If using an iPad, check the volume control button on the upper right side of the iPad. Refer to the article “Audio Not Heard When Reading Books in myON” for more information.
